Reach for Custom Card when a point deserves to stand apart from the lesson around it—a quote worth sitting with, a key takeaway, a definition, a quick tip, a warning learners shouldn't scroll past. It gives you a container you can shape entirely, so the emphasis comes from the design rather than from bolding a sentence and hoping it lands. Write the card with full rich text: headings, lists, links, and formatting all behave the way you'd expect. Add an image and place it above, below, or beside your text, with control over its size, alignment, and the space between image and words. Small images are treated as icons and hold their size, so a card can be labeled with an icon just as easily as it can be illustrated with a photo or a diagram. The styling goes as far as you want to take it. Fill the card with a solid color or a gradient you position and blend yourself, and set its opacity. Add a border in any width, solid, dashed, or dotted, and decide where the fill stops behind it. Round the corners, add a drop shadow that follows the card's painted edge, and set top-and-bottom and left-and-right padding independently. No two cards in a course have to look alike.
