Rewrite and Reveal

Learners read a prompt, commit their own rewrite in a response field, then reveal a strong example and a short "why this works" explanation — with an optional self-rating to compare their version against the model. Because they answer before seeing the example, it turns passive reading into real retrieval practice and self-explanation. Reach for it whenever you want an "attempt it, then compare to an expert" exercise: rewriting closed questions as open ones, softening feedback, turning features into benefits, applying a framework, or tightening tone and phrasing. Add any number of prompts, restyle the labels and colors, and optionally report each response to the LMS. Best for open-ended practice and reflection rather than right/wrong quizzing.

Fill each card with the original wording, a model rewrite and a short explanation. The starting layout starts with three cards. Add or remove cards to match the exercise.

Change the learner-facing text to match your exercise.

• Name the response area and submit action.
• Rename the model and explanation headings.
• Change the next and done controls.

Self-rating starts on with three choices: “Room to grow,” “Close” and “Nailed it.” Change the choices or hide the rating. Response reporting to the LMS also starts on, and you can turn it off.

Each card opens with the source prompt and an empty response area. Learners submit before the model answer and explanation appear.
