In the creator's words, from Mighty.
Break It Down teaches estimation by decomposition. The author poses a question too big to answer directly, then breaks it into smaller ones the learner actually can answer. Each is a slider, and the answer assembles itself as a running equation and a live total as they go.
On submit, every step is compared against the author's own figure, the block names which assumption drove the biggest gap, and the result is judged on how close the total lands rather than on precision — because a defensible estimate is the goal, not an exact one.
This interaction suits any question where the answer is a product of a few estimable quantities: market size, headcount needed, cost of a recurring process, volume over a period.
