An ordered card list that learners rearrange, submit, and retry after incorrect feedback. You add each step and its explanation, then write the success and incorrect feedback learners see.

About this template

In the creator's words, from Jocelyn Nadeau.

Turn a process or priority list into a hands-on sorting challenge. Drag and Drop Sorter with Feedback is ideal for teaching steps, ranking decisions, workflows, escalation paths, and ordered procedures because learners must actively arrange items and learn from feedback. Attempts, explanations, success messaging, and completion behavior make it a practical choice for turning static instructions into applied practice.

Add each step and explanation

The starting layout ships with six cards. Add or remove cards for your process.

For each card, write the step text and an explanation. You can also replace the feedback and button labels.

Learners sort before they submit

Cards first appear out of order. Learners drag each card into position, then select Submit.

The starting setup allows three retries. Incorrect answers show that some steps are misplaced. Correct answers show the correct order and explanations.

Use multiple lists for broader sorting

Pick List sorting question when learners need to sort one or more lists. Use this template when each item needs an explanation after learners order one sequence.
