Move learners from recognition to recall with a focused fill-in-the-blanks knowledge check. This template works well for vocabulary, compliance language, process steps, definitions, and key phrases because learners must actively complete the content instead of simply reading it. Attempts, scoring, distractors, and pass/fail feedback make it easy to create a lightweight but meaningful practice activity.
Learners choose inside the sentence
Each blank appears as a dropdown inside the surrounding text. Learners open each dropdown, pick an option, then submit the completed passage.
Keep the context in view
Add rich text around the blanks so learners can use the full sentence as context. Supply distractors alongside each correct missing word.
Use sorting for ordered answers
Pick List sorting question when learners must place items in the correct order. Use this template when they complete text without rearranging it.
